Birth -------à       body , soul ,mind    ----à death

The soul/(spirit) is the place where we feel pleasure. (Relate with heart) /passenger
The mind is the place where we calculate how to receive the pleasure.(relate with /brain)  /driver
The soul (or in easier terms, "the desire") tells the mind what the pleasure should be, and the mind then has to work, like a calculator, on how that desire should be fulfilled.
If you take the time to analyze your desires, you'll discover that they are aimed at transient things - things which will eventually die away. Perhaps a moment enters here and there where you contemplate the eternal, but this moment is always followed by drives for transient things.
There is no eternal soul until we attain one in this lifetime, through working on our desire until we really want an eternal soul. Then, this desire expands our mind: it starts calculating how to fulfill this desire with eternal life.

The mind is what the brain does. The "soul" is a purely metaphysical concept.
    mind is intimate

soul is subconsciously intimate and hidden
the spirit invokes the mind as a tool

At a minimum, I think that mind is what all creatures have (to a greater or lesser degree), but soul is a product of self-awareness.

    Source(s):

Just my opinion; it's worth every penny of what you paid for it!
    • Your mind lives in your soul, and your soul lives somewhere else. Your body is a remote sensory organism, that allows your soul to live temporarily in this virtual reality. You can access most of your mind, but only your mind can access your soul.

No kidding, this world is a painful illusion, with intermittent moments of joy.

Be kind to the other souls you meet, and read the Bible, it's the truth..
    • Soul is indestructable unlike mind.
    • Soul is the passenger in the human body, expecting the mind which is the driver, to take it to its destination with the help of the heart.

Soul is dependent on us when we are in this human body. That is the reason it is said that we need to make best use of this human body. When this body is gone, we as souls will remain, but helpless.
    • soul is a holly existance of human being& can't feel it physically, mind is a part of brain which directs the whole body can be identify physically.
    • The soul is a lone traveller which changes its means of transport from time to time. The mind, being both a 'transmitter and receiver', can increase its breadth of awareness to become cognizant of the energy formations of things in this world that are not immediately within the perception of the physical senses.
    • Soul is what you call as life force, energy etc.Now what is life force? It is the basic energy particle & it is a whirling wave. The size of the energy particle is very small. The siddhas of Tamilnadu say 'take a hair from the tail of a cow & cut a piece to the size of the diameter of the hair &cut it to one lakh portions & that minutest part is the energy particle'. Millions &millions of energy particles keep rotating in our body & so we can feel the touch, taste, smell, see & hear. The spreading wave which is being formed due to the particles rotation, when it passes through the brain is what you call as the mind. The particle has the power to record whatever you see, hear &everything you experience. This imprinted spreading wave is our thought. For futher details refer to the book "The mind" by Vethathiri Maharishi founder of Simplified Kundalini Yoga & World Community service center
    • Soul - lives in heart
      Mind - lives in brain

    Definitions of Attitude

Social psychologists unfortunately do not agree on the precise definition of an attitude. In fact, there are more than 100 different definitions of the concept. However, four definitions are more commonly accepted than others. One conception is that attitude is how positive or negative, favorable or unfavorable or pro or con a person feels toward an object. This definition views attitude as a feeling or an evaluation reaction to objects.
A second definition represents the thoughts of Allport, who views attitudes as learned pre-dispositions to respond to an object or class of objects in a consistently favorable or favorable way. This definition is slightly more complicated than the first because it incorporates the notion of a readiness to respond toward objects.
A second definition represents the thoughts of Allport who views attitudes as learned predispositions to an object or class of objects in a consistently favorable or unfavorable way. This definition is slightly more complicated than the first because it incorporates the notion of a readiness to respond an object.
Third definition of attitude popularized by cognitively oriented social psychologists is: an enduring organization of motivational emotional perceptual and cognitive process with respect to some aspect of the individual’s world. These views attitudes as being made up of three components; (1) the cognitive or knowledge component (2) the affective or emotional component and (3) the cognitive or behavioral tendency component.
More recently theorists have given more attention to new definitions of attitude which has generated much research and has been useful in predicting behavior. This definition explicitly treats attitude as being multidimensional in nature, as opposed to the uni-dimensional emphasis taken by earlier definitions. Here, a person’s overall attitude toward an object is seen to be function of (1) the strength of each of a number of beliefs the person holds about various aspects of the object and (2) the evaluation e gives to each belief as it relates to the object. A belief is the probability a person attaches to a given piece of knowledge being true.
This last definition has considerable appeal because it has been shown that consumers perceive a product (object) as having many attributes and they form beliefs about each of these attributes. For example a consumer may believe strongly that Listerine mouthwash kills germs helps prevent colds, gives people clean, refreshing breath and prevents sore throats. If this consumer evaluates all five of these attributes as favorable qualities, then according to the definition he would have a strongly favorable overall attitude toward the brand. On the other hand, a second consumer might believe just as strongly as the first consumer that Listerine possesses all five of these traits; however she may not evaluate all attributes a favorably as the first consumer does. Therefore her overall attitude toward the brand would be less favorable.
It has been important to provide all four attitude definitions because the majority of attitude studies have been based on them.
    Characteristics of attitudes
Attitudes have several important characteristics or properties namely they (1) have an object: (2) have direction, intensity and degree; (3) have structure and (4) are learned.
    Attitudes have an object
By definition attitudes must have an object that is, they must have a focal point – whether it be an abstract concept such as ethical behavior or a tangible item, such as a motorcycle. The object can be a physical thing, such as product or it can be an action, such as buying a lawnmower. In addition the object can be either one item, such as a person or a collection of items such as a social group, it also can be either specific (Deutschmacher bologna) or general (imported meats)

    TIME ; FEAR ; PUSH

Today I Must Exploit is a wonderful way to visualize how one uses his /her time. Each one of us has a different priority in life. As long as we are comfortable that we have focused our resources and our time to attain those priorities, we will never have any regrets about how we spend our time. If reading is our priority then so be it, watching a movie can also be ones priority especially if you are a move reviewer or sleep could be our prime concern after a hard days work. The problem is that we are rarely sure of our priorities and often we compromise on those priorities for short term pleasures.Students in particular are guilty of squandering away precious time by ignoring their studies and substituting it with frivolous pursuits like watching movies, TV, sleeping or shopping. For professionals, the danger is in wasting time in gossiping, backbiting, leg pulling, ego massaging, texting / emailing, indecision, etc.

FEAR is nothing but False Evidence Appearing Real. Let us view it differently. In any race, there can be only one winner. Does it mean that the person with the best timing be the only one to run the race? Sounds stupid, since every one in the race has a fair chance of winning, as they carry the potential to win and have thus qualified to be in the final race. A failure to win one race doesn’t mean that we cannot win the next race. If we let our fears appear so real, then we would enter every race with the belief that we will not win and you can be sure it will be a self fulfilling prophecy. Of course we must not be fool hardy and enter races where we are physically, mentally and psychologically not competent for the race. Our life is not a competitive race with one another, just a qualitative race between our own today and tomorrow. Making our life more meaningful today, more pleasurable for everyone around and pushing our own boundaries of excellence is what makes life beautiful.

I PUSHed myself into a corner when I got stuck in the rut called 'Writers Block'. Actually it was tardiness masquerading as Writers Block. You must be wondering what all this is about.
PUSH is Pray Until Something Happens. You would notice that there is a considerable time lag since my previous post and this post and when I grew desperate, I used the PUSH formula. It worked miraculously when a small voice at the back of my head kept telling me louder and louder, Stop Praying and start TYPING!
The secret of PUSH is in your BELIEF – Belief in GOD and Belief in YOUSELF. The miracles in your life happen because you prepare for them. Prayer is the ignition key to your LIFE, but your are the vehicle that needs to go somewhere; so keep yourself mentally, physically and spiritually ready. As the saying goes ‘ Chance favours the prepared wo/man’

    TWELVE POINTS ON ATTITUDE

    TWELVE POINTS ON ATTITUDE

    • It is your attitude at the beginning of a task more than anything else that will determine your success or failure.
    • It is your attitude towards life that will determine life's attitude towards you. Despite many people's belief to the contrary, life pays no favorites.
    • You control your attitude. If you are negative it is because you have decided to be negative and not because of other people or circumstances.
    • Act as if you have a good attitude. Remember actions trigger feelings just as feelings trigger actions.
    • Before a person can achieve the kind of results he wants, he must first become that person. He must then think, walk, talk, act and conduct himself in all of his affairs, as would the person he wishes to become.
    • Treat everybody as the most important person in the world.
    • Attitudes are based on assumptions. In order to change attitudes one must first change one's assumptions.
    • Develop the attitude that there are more reasons why you should succeed than reasons why you should fail.
    • When you are faced with a problem, adopt the attitude that you can and will solve it.
    • We become what we think about. Control your thoughts and you will control your life.
    • Radiate the attitude of confidence, of well being, of a person who knows where he is going. You will then find good things happening to you right away.
    • In order to develop a good attitude, take charge first thing in the morning. Do you say, "Good morning, Lord" or "Good Lord, morning?"
Read these twelve points every day for the next thirty days and see how your life changes.

    ATTITUDE DECIDES

    ATTITUDE DECIDES

People achieve great things not by their skills but their attitude. Positive mental attitude is a wonder drug. A person with a positive attitude is optimistic, enthusiastic and energetic. Our attitude affects our success and our outlook to life

    What is attitude?

Attitude is our inward feeling expressed by our behaviour and also it is our outlook to life, based on our past experiences.

If attitude is not right then nothing else can be right. It is that, which draws people towards us or repels them.
A Strong positive mental attitude will create more miracles than any wonder drug. Our attitude determines our approach to life.

It also determines what we expect from life? Whether we are preparing to take off or heading for a crash. In fact, positive attitude helps us to bring out our inner energies.

When a person's attitude is positive, it is conducive to growth and progress. If one's attitude intimidates other, even his best advices are neglected by others.
Negative attitude injects fear. A hardened attitude on the other hand leads to a closed mind

    LEARNING : A LIFETIME PROCESS story2

A journalist was interviewing  the chairman of one big group of company , she asked what is the secret behind your success? he replied, "when i was young i asked my father, why should i study or learn?" my father took me to the vegetable garden behind our house. he showed me a green vegetable and said, " when it is growing it is fresh and greenish. the moment it stops growing further it ripens and then falls and rots, similarly when a man stop learning he ripens and rots" so learning is a lifetime process, fact is every moment of life is a process of learning

    logic behind training and learning?

Once a person asked the owner of a small company, why do you train your people? what if they leave after getting trained?, the owner replied  "what will happen if i don't train them and they stay

    ATTITUDE

    Attitude (psychology)

    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An Attitude is a hypothetical construct that represents an individual's degree of like or dislike for something. Attitudes are generally positive or negative views of a person, place, thing, or event— this is often referred to as the attitude object. People can also be conflicted or ambivalent toward an object, meaning that they simultaneously possess both positive and negative attitudes toward the item in question. Attitudes are judgments. They develop on the ABC model (Affect, Behavior, and Cognition) The affective response is an emotional response that expresses an individual's degree of preference for an entity. The behavioral intention is a verbal indication or typical behavioral tendency of an individual. The cognitive(process of thought) response is a cognitive evaluation of the entity that constitutes an individual's beliefs about the object. Most attitudes are the result of either direct experience or observational learning from the environment
